Green and flowery steppes, or yellow, against the background of snowy mountains? Kazakhstan is one of those countries where the seasons are well defined, each with its own particularities, good and bad sides.
In this article, we are going to explore the different seasons in Kazakhstan and help you decide when to go to Kazakhstan.
Spring in Kazakhstan is a season of transition, marked by the melting of the snow and the awakening of nature. Temperatures are starting to rise, but they can still be cool, especially in March.
If you're a ski enthusiast, this is the perfect time to visit mountain resorts like Almaty and Shymbulak, which offer exceptional skiing conditions.
In April and May, nature begins to blossom, creating a landscape of green meadows and wild flowers. It's the perfect time for nature and photography lovers.
However, it's important to note that spring can be muddy in some areas, due to melting snow, which can make travel more difficult.
Spring also marks the start of festival season in Kazakhstan, where you can experience local culture and traditions. The Nauryz (New Year) Festival, celebrated in March whose festivities continue in June, is a highlight, with parades, traditional games, and an abundance of delicious Kazakh food.

Personally, I love the landscapes of June and September, when the colors are the brightest. At the end of spring, the mountains and green steppes are covered with multi-colored flowers, at the beginning of autumn, the dried grass shimmers like gold, contrasting with the snowy peaks and the turquoise blue of the lakes.
Whatever season you choose to visit Kazakhstan, one thing is certain: you will be amazed by the richness of the landscapes.
